DescriptionRug possibly executed in the Torbat-i-Heydari region of northeast Persia (Iran). A specific tribal attribution requires further research but most closely identifies with Sultan-Khani weaving. The central panel of the main field has a camel ground while the main border is comprised of a red ground. Field and border designs are reciprocal. Floral designs in both main field and border resemble rugs of “Mina Khani” design type. Minor border motif of reciprocal “ocean wave” designs.
