DescriptionA long rug from the Caucasus region with stylistic qualities similar to rugs from Kazakhstan and Gendje, Azerbaijan. The Gendje attribution is tenuous and needs to be further researched, but it is safe to identify this textile as a Caucasian rug. The main field pattern consists of compartmented hooked medallions or gȕl on an aquamarine-colored ground. The main border features a multicolor rams horns design on a white ground, which is flanked by colorful minor borders, the geometric designs of which are diagonally oriented.
