DescriptionVillages houses appear throughout the painting. Across the top appear a hairdresser, a farmer plowing a field, a man driving his ox to the stream to drink, and woman with a water vessel. Elsewhere, merchants carry bundles of wood. Another merchant drives a donkey before him. Inscriptions in Amharic identify others as congregants (with dark tunics), travelers, and people going to the courthouse.
