DescriptionEthiopian religious painting, diptych with “The Annunciation” on the left and “St.Michael the Archangel” on the right. On the left, Archangel Gabriel points to the womb of the Vrigin Mary and announces her impending pregnancy. On the right, St. Michael appears crowned and carrying a scepter with a cross at both ends. The Ge’ez inscription notes his feast day. November 12th. Inscriptions also identify the flanking angels as St. Gabriel and St. Michael again.
