DescriptionSequential painting of the “Queen of Sheba” narrative in twenty-eight panels. Words and images tell the story of Makeda, the Queen of Sheba. It begins with the poisoning of a goat, which is fed to an evil snake. Makeda’s father is crowned, and presents her to the public as his heir. When he dies, she is crowned Queen. She sends a merchant with a gift of perfume to Solomon, and then visits him and conceives a child, Menelik. When Makeda dies, Menelik buries her with a large tomb with obelisks at Aksum.
