DescriptionWoman’s headtie woven on a man’s horizontal loom in strips of approximately 3.75” wide; seven strips are stitched together edge to edge to form this headtie. Primarily maroon with black and white stripes and dark green supplementary weft designs. Narrowband cloth is known locally as Aso-oke; this example is of the type known as Aso-oke Alari, and includes small openwork holes. Unhemmed.
