DescriptionMan’s overskirt, part of a longer textile, assembled in patchwork manner and decorated in various techniques. The main panel is a grid of two types of rectangular elements. One is dyed red and decorated with appliqué natural raffia circles and triangles with two large X-forms and a small central cross formed with cowrie shells. The other is a checkerboard patchwork of black and natural rectangles. On three sides are pieces natural raffia borders with embroidered plush triangles.
