DescriptionMale doll representing a elderly Penobscot chief with braided gray hair and a chiefly headdress consisting of feathers that stand straight up. The headdress also has a cloth band, decorated with shells,in the same rust-colored fabric as he fringed tunic, leggings and boots. He also wears a beaded necklace with five pendant cowrie shells. A tag with Ruth Francis’s signature is attached to the doll with a beaded string.
