DescriptionLarge bronze drum with an hourglass shape, circular typanum, and four openwork lugs at the waist. The top has delicate linear patterns including a central star, or rosette with eight petals, within a large concentric circle that is surrounded by four small circles and loops of solid and dotted lines, all within a larger concentric circle near the rim. The body of the drum is encircled with lines near the top, hatched lines near the bottom, and extensive lines, hatched lines, and other linear patterns around the middle, with abstract, large-eyed faces at the waist between the lugs.
