DescriptionAwayo (awayu) woman’s utility cloth used to carry goods or children. The predominant pattern is four groups of three bands of diamonds enclosing S-shapes flanked by smaller diamonds. The S-shape appears alone in a narrow band at the outer edges of the cloth. Other patterns include concentric triangles and small concentric circles, as well as linear patterns on one half of the cloth.
