DescriptionHuipil (woman’s traditional blouse) from San Juan Sacatepequez, Guatemala. Striped warp in lavender and yellow with red and tan and a few green and white stripes. Tan color imitates cuyuscate, natural cotton. Two panels joined with narrow satin stitch randa on the upper portion only. Neckline finished with blanket stitch in blue thread. Supplementary weft birds, geometric patterns, and sky band.
